The Federal Government has condemned the deaths of three Nigerians in separate incidents in South Africa between September 18 and 21.
The victims were identified as Kenechukwu Christopher Igwemmadu, Olaniyi Olaleye Olatunde and Christian Hillary Nnaemeka.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry said Igwemmadu died after allegedly jumping from a building while trying to escape police harassment in Bloemfontein.
Olatunde was reportedly shot during an altercation at a nightclub in Pretoria, while Nnaemeka died following an alleged assault involving South African politician and content creator Xolani Khumalo and members of his team.
Nigeria has called on South African authorities to conduct thorough and transparent investigations and ensure that anyone found responsible is prosecuted.
The government also urged Nigerians in South Africa to remain calm, vigilant and security-conscious, while maintaining contact with Nigerian diplomatic missions for assistance.
