Veteran Nigerian entertainer and social commentator, Charly Boy, says he has accepted his two daughters’ decisions to identify as lesbians.

Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, the entertainer said his priority is for his daughters to be happy and independent.

Charly Boy said he initially found it difficult to accept the decision, but eventually adapted because he believes parents cannot control the lives of their adult children.

He said his approach to parenting has also changed, particularly with younger generations, adding that parents should advise their children rather than try to control them.

The entertainer also spoke about his friendship with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, describing him as both a close friend and a father figure.

He said the two sometimes speak for several hours about topics including religion, life and personal matters.
